Patrick Reed picked up his first major victory on Sunday at the Masters, and with it a trophy and a green jacket. But according to Tiger Woods, it’s not all he earned by winning at Augusta National.
Woods, next year’s U.S. Presidents Cup captain, took to Twitter after Reed’s victory to congratulate the 27-year-old, and couldn’t help but work in a friendly jab at the man who goes by Captain America.
“Congrats @PReedGolf! At worst you have assured yourself a captain’s pick for next year’s @PresidentsCup,” he tweeted.

Reed’s match play resume is stuff of legend, particularly in team events for the United States. Just ask Rory McIlroy.
But in the unlikely scenario his game falls apart in the run-up to next year’s Presidents Cup, Reed may want to save this tweet from the 14-time major champ. Seems like a nice little insurance policy to have in your back pocket.
