WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – U.S. Solheim Cup captain Juli Inkster said all along that all 12 of her players would play during Day 1. European captain Annika Sorenstam played coy and wouldn’t divulge her strategy.

In the end, all 12 players from both sides will play in at least one match during the first day of the Solheim Cup at Des Moines Golf and Country Club.

Michelle Wie will pair with good friend and Women’s PGA Championship winner Danielle Kang to start off for the Americans in afternoon fourball matches. They will play Madelene Sagstrom and Jodi Ewart Shadoff, who both sat out the morning.
