Justin Thomas’ best chance to hole a 19-footer for birdie from just off the fifth green on Saturday was to roll his ball about 2 feet straight sideways – and it worked.
The imporbable make moved Thomas to 4 under for the week, three back of the leaders who had yet to tee off.
