Brooks Koepka has seemingly figured out how to conquer a baked-out Shinnecock Hills.
His strategy: play your pitch to the opposite side of the green from the flagstick – since that’s the only way any ball is going to hold the 14th green right now – and then pour in a 61-footer for par.

That putt – preceded by a pitch shot at was purposely played 20 yards from the hole location – kept Koepka tied for the third-round lead late Saturday at 1 over par with his good friend Dustin Johnson.
