Mitch Grassing was 0-for-7 and facing elmination in the quarterfinals of the Volvik World Long Drive Championship. He needed to not only keep one on the grid, but have it travel farther than 419 yards in order to defeat Wes Patterson.
With the mighty lash above, Grassing walloped one 435 yards – the only ball he got in play – to advance to the semifinals in Thackerville, Okla.
