ORLANDO, Fla. – Tiger Woods made three birdies in his first six holes Thursday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, prompting bookmakers to send out updated Masters odds.

They’ll likely drop more if Woods continues his current trend.

Westgate Las Vegas (@golfodds) quickly tweeted out a note early in the round at Bay Hill, saying that Woods is now the betting favorite at 8/1.

Dustin Johnson and Justin Thomas are both next in line at 9/1. Jordan Spieth is at 12/1, while Jon Rahm and Jason Day are both 14/1. Phil Mickelson is 16/1 with Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose.

“There’s a lot of gamble-holics out there,” Woods quipped after his round when told of the recent development. He made six birdies and a double bogey to shoot 4-under 68, which was tied for second place early Thursday.

In August, when Masters odds opened, Woods was listed at 100/1, but after the Hero World Challenge in December those numbers plummeted to 20/1.

A month ago, prior to the Honda Classic, Woods’ odds were 16/1 but in the last week, with the help of a second-place finish at the Valspar Championship, they’ve dropped to 12/1, then 10/1 and now 8/1, officially the betting favorite.
