Rest easy, golf fans – there are only 241 days until the next major.
Once the final putt dropped at Bellerive and Brooks Koepka left St. Louis with the Wanamaker Trophy, the oddsmakers at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook were quick to install betting odds for the Masters. Wagering will pick up in the coming months, but 2015 champ Jordan Spieth starts off as a 10/1 favorite.
But close on his heels are a trio of players including 42-year-old Tiger Woods, who has won four green jackets and finished second to Koepka at the PGA Championship. Woods is listed at 12/1 odds – a far cry from the 100/1 odds assigned to him at this point a year ago – and he’s placed alongside Dustin Johnson and Justin Thomas.
Koepka opens at 14/1 after missing this year’s Masters because of injury, and next to him is Rory McIlroy who will once again be trying to round out the final leg of the career Grand Slam. Defending champ Patrick Reed is listed at 30/1.
Here’s a look at the opening betting odds at the Westgate, which are sure to change before the world’s best make that drive down Magnolia Lane in the spring:
