Patrick Reed’s Masters victory brought with it many spoils, one of which was a spot on this year’s U.S. Ryder Cup team.
Reed started the week at No. 9 in the points race, just outside the cutoff for automatic qualification. But after holding on for a one-shot win at Augusta National, he vaulted to No. 1 in the updated rankings and assured that he’ll earn one of eight automatic spots for Paris.
Reed wasn’t the only player to make a big move, as Rickie Fowler’s runner-up finish bumped him from 10th to sixth in the latest standings.
Here’s a look at the updated U.S. points list, with the top eight players after the PGA Championship in August qualifying automatically and accompanied by four picks from captain Jim Furyk:
