This Sunday, November 11, will mark the 100-year anniversary of Armistice Day, the end of World War I.

Observed as Veterans Day in the United States, fighting between the Allied and Central Powers ceased at 11 a.m. in Paris on November 11, on “the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.”

In honor of the centenary, the Royal and Ancient Clubhouse at St. Andrews has joined in the #LightUpRed movement, recognizing the “First World War generation who served, sacrificed and changed our world forever.”
