AUGUSTA, Ga. – Ian Poulter and Jordan Spieth both rose in their respective Ryder Cup points standings after their performances last week at the Houston Open.
Poulter, who won for the first time worldwide since 2012, jumped to ninth on the World Points List, three spots back of an automatic spot. With his reputation in the event, however, he seems likely to find a spot on the team, even if he doesn’t qualify on points.
Spieth, meanwhile, moved from sixth to third on the U.S. points list, after he tied for third at the Golf Club of Houston. It was his third top-10 finish of the season.
Reigning U.S. Open champion Brooks Koepka slid another spot, to fifth, but he is still comfortably inside the top-8 bubble as he continues to recover from a wrist injury.
