Anna Nordqvist soared nine spots to No. 4 in Monday’s release of the new Rolex Women’s World Rankings.
The big move came after Nordqvist defeated Brittany Altomare Sunday in a playoff to win the Evian Championship. It’s Nordqvist’s second major championship title.
This equals the highest Nordqvist has climbed in the world rankings since she turned pro before joining the LPGA in 2009. She also climbed to No. 4 back in 2010.
Sung Hyun Park flip flopped with Lexi Thompson again, with Park moving back up to No. 2.
Moriya Jutanugarn, who tied for third at the Evian Championship, made another big move in the rankings. She climbed nine spots to No. 23. She started the year No. 85 in the world but has had four finishes of T-4 or better this summer. Her sister, Ariya, slid down one spot to No. 5. Ariya was world No. 1 in June.
Altomare made the biggest rankings move of all this week. She soared from No. 102 to No. 40.
