England’s Bronte Law is known for her fiery temperament.
She was just plain on fire Tuesday at the LET’s Lalla Aicha Tour School, where players are bidding to gain tour membership.
Law, 23, the former UCLA standout, made an LET record nine consecutive birdies on her way to posting a 10-under 62 at the Amelkis Golf Club in Morocco. At 13-under 203, she leads the field through three rounds.
Law, who finished 41st on the LPGA money list this season, helped England make a spirited run at the UL International Crown last fall. She will be looking to make her first Solheim Cup team next year, when the Europeans host the Americans at Gleneagles in Scotland in September. In 2016, she became the first player from Great Britain and Ireland to go 5-0 in the Curtis Cup.

“I had three tap-ins, which makes a difference,” she said. “I started to see a couple of putts go in and once you see some putts go in, you believe that the lines you’re picking are good lines. It was nice to feel confident over the ball.”
The previous record for consecutive birdies on the LET was seven.
Law is one shot ahead of Sweden’s Linnea Strom and four ahead of France’s Manon Gidali. Ireland’s Leona Maguire, the former world No. 1 amateur, is tied for fourth, five shots back. Maguire has already earned Symetra Tour status for next year.
After 90 holes, the top five finishers will earn category 5c LET membership, which will allow them entry into most tournaments. Players who finish sixth to 25th will play out of category 8. Players who make the cut and finish 26th or lower will also earn LET status.
