ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Would you buy insurance from this man?

If things continue to go Jason Gore’s way at the RSM Classic you might not have the option to work with the PGA-Tour-winner-turned-insurance-salesman.

“I’m just an insurance salesman now, so I was just kind of rolling with it. It’s honestly the truth. Didn’t know what to expect, I’m just kind of going with it,” Gore said following a 63 on Friday on the Seaside Course that left him tied for second place and three strokes behind leader Charles Howell III.

Gore has struggled in recent years playing golf so about three years ago he teamed with a friend to open an insurance company. It was during this hiatus from pro golf that Gore realized how much he missed the game.

“I’ve been playing a bunch of golf, just been doing a lot of client golf,” Gore said. “It’s been fun. Actually realized that I love the game again, that I actually love playing it. Sometimes you get out here and you just beat yourself up, especially a year that was bad.”

Gore said his struggles on the course stemmed from a back surgery and that he’s healthy and happy with his game – just don’t expect him to have any expectations this weekend.

“I haven’t played a weekend in so long, I don’t know what to do,” he said. “I’m just going to go one shot at a time; I’ve got nothing to lose. This is fun for me.”
