So you've dabbled on the range and feel like you're ready for a real golf course. What do you do now? A barrier for most new golfers is figuring out how exactly to set up a round. Can you just show up? Does every round of golf have to be 18 holes? How to Golf hostess Kathryn Newton explains the ins and outs of making a tee time, from deciding on how many players to what time you want to play.
What You Need to Know:
• Most golf courses require you make a tee time, which you can do by calling the pro shop or booking online.
• You should have an idea of what time you want to play and how many people you’ll be playing with. You can have up to four people in a group.
• You’re often given the choice between playing nine or 18 holes, but if you want to play less than that, you can.
• Decide whether you want to walk the course or take a cart. Some courses have caddies available, and others allow you to take a pushcart.
