SAINT-QUENTIN-EN-YVELINES, France – Tiger Woods played both team sessions on Saturday at the Ryder Cup, at least temporarily shelving concerns that he’s been slowed by an injury this week.

Despite losing both matches on Day 2, Woods didn’t appear hampered in any way and on a few occasions took vicious swings from the rough to prove the point.

Woods has appeared to be moving a little slower than normal this week and he has taken a little extra time on the practice tee to prepare for rounds, which is no big surprise considering his history with back injuries and morning temperatures that have hovered in the mid-40’s.

“I think early in the week, he looked a little tired. His pace looked a little bit slow walking,” U.S. captain Jim Furyk said. “I think that’s expected, coming off a big win [at the Tour Championship]. He put a lot of work and effort into it and played a lot more golf than he’s used to.”

But Furyk stressed that Woods is healthy this week and reserved a spot early in his Sunday singles lineup for him as the U.S. team tries to overcome a four-point deficit.

“He might be emotionally a little bit tired. You find a way in a Ryder Cup to gain some energy and some adrenaline, and you work hard. I know he’s going to be fit and ready to go tomorrow,” Furyk said.
