The Presidents Cup will have a late slot on the calendar in 2019 when the biennial event heads to Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia for the third time.

The PGA Tour announced Monday that the tournament will be held Dec. 12-15, 2019. The dates are about one month later than when it was held at Royal Melbourne in 2011, but in line with the tournament dates from 1998 when the International Team won for the first, and to date only, time.

The Tour announced in 2015 that the tournament would return to Australia in 2019, and announced Royal Melbourne as the venue earlier this year.

“Australia has proved to be an incredible host for the Presidents Cup in the past,” said PGA Tour executive director Matt Kamienski. “We expect nothing short of the first-class hospitality and welcoming culture that our fans, players, their families, our guests and our staff have received in each of our previous two events in Melbourne.”

The dates put the event right in the heart of the Australian golf summer, with the Australian Open and Australian PGA Championship typically played in mid- to late-November. The announcement serves as yet another change for the 2019 golf calendar, when The Players is set to move back to March and the PGA Championship will go from August to May.
