The 2018 Web.com Tour schedule will feature the most events and prize money in years.
Next year’s slate features 27 tournaments, the most since 2012, spread out over 18 states and four countries outside the U.S. The total prize money is $18.3 million, the most since the Web.com Tour’s 2010 season.
Among the highlights of the new schedule: For the first time, the season will open with events in four consecutive weeks, beginning with the Bahamas Great Exuma Classic on Jan. 13-16. Two new events are also on the calendar: the Savannah Golf Championship, scheduled for March 29-April 1, and the April 19-22 North Mississippi Classic.
Nine graduates from the 2016 Web.com Tour won on the PGA Tour this season, including Xander Schauffele, who won the Tour Championship and is a lock to receive the Rookie of the Year award. FedExCup champion Justin Thomas played the Web.com circuit in 2014.
“Those are two examples of the way these guys are ready for the PGA Tour as they leave the Web.com Tour,” said Web.com Tour president Dan Glod.
